Wicker Park, Bucktown businesses to use employees to patrol streets
The Chicago Tribune interviews our very own Maren Rosenberg about a new rebate program that allows local business to get involved in patrolling areas of Wicker Park and Bucktown. The program will be organized by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and focuses on promoting safety in the community.
Maren says "It’s important for us to take the time to physically walk through the street. While safety is a concern, it’s so much more than that, it’s welcoming people to the neighborhood, giving directions … doing things preventatively, rather than waiting until a crisis occurs to call in (help).”
